We were thrilled to welcome past pupils Luke and Rory with their team mates Cian, Darragh and Luke of the U19 Killannin team to the school today. Congratulations to them and to the rest of the team on winning the County Championship! We were very grateful that they took the time to visit and to answer questions. They are such wonderful role models for the junior sportspeople in our school and in the club.
We had a great day out at the Cross Country Championships in Renmore on Tuesday the 26th of September! Well done to everyone who participated and to the pupils who came along to encourage their classmates. Congratulations to Roan in 4th class who qualified for the finals.
Every Monday from September to December all of the pupils in the school are attending swimming lessons in Leisureland.
The team had a very successful day out in Moycullen today, winning 3 games out of 3 in the Cumann na mBunscol 7-a-side competition. We’re heading for the finals in Loughgeorge in June. Well done everyone!
A fantastic day was had by everyone who attended the Gillian Lydon and Niall Kinnevey Cup competitions held in Killannin on Friday the 28th of April. For the first time since before the pandemic the three schools, Scoil Baile Nua, Tullykyne and Collinamuck were able to join forces to create teams and compete as the NewTullyMuckers. They competed in style! Both a boys’ team and a girls’ team reached the finals on the day. The girls’ team drew their final only to lose out by the smallest of margins in extra time. The boys’ team were successful in their final and came away with the coveted Naill Kinnevey Cup. Congratulations to both of the teams and to all of the players who played on the other NewTullyMucker teams. As always all of the pupils proved to be ambassadors for the school. We are very proud of the players and of all of the supporters who went to cheer them on on the day.
Congratulations to the soccer team who did so well in the five-a-side soccer tournament in Barna on Friday the 24th of March. The team were fantastic, despite the wet and windy conditions, and the rest of their classmates provided great support from the sidelines. Well done everyone!
On Tuesday 5th of October pupils from 3rd to 6th class will take part in the 2021 Galway AAI Primary Schools Cross Country Championships. The Semi-Finals will be held in the playing fields of Nolan Park, Renmore on Tuesday the 5th and the finals will take place the following Tuesday – 12th October. Best of luck everyone!
